About Us

The Creative Souls Project is a small social enterprise that specializes in supporting and developing young creatives so they can be.  From our sites in Avondale in Papakura we provide space and resources for community to use for rehearsals, workshops, studio space Working with council, local boards, schools and small business we provide creative responses to social objectives and utilize our crew of young creatives to do this work.   The Creative Souls Project also offer a range of social development programmes to schools and social workers – using a range of creative mediums to develop social, communication and emotional skills. Little Souls Music Academy is now part of The Creative Souls Project and offers music education in primary schools and kindergarten/preschools.

Meet Our Crew

A registered teacher for the last 15 years and full time working musician who has traveled the world touring performing.

Malcolm’s role is to oversee all of the planning and process for all our projects/programmes/events.

A social worker by trade Deahne has been working on projects that combine working with young people, social development and the arts for the last 15 years. Responsible for designing projects/events for local boards/council, creative programming for sites, mentoring crew and managing social development programmes.

Leonie Freeman is an editor, writer and organiser of things. She worked in the book publishing industry for many years, Responsible for creative direction, project design, management and mentoring at both our Avondale and Papakura sites. Leoni also and now freelances for publishers, writes for websites and news outlets.
